Taking Home The Gold... Every Time.

“The brain…is not the mind; it is an organ suitable for connecting a mind to the rest of the universe.”

- Dr. Mario Beauregard, Neuroscientist

Let’s let go of any notion that the mind and the brain are the same thing. I love Dr. Beauregard’s quote above because it reminds me that the brain is simply the tool we have for accessing consciousness, but it is not consciousness itself. He continues the quote by explaining that “an Olympic class swimming pool…does not create the Olympic events; but gives them a feasible location.”

See how easy it is for us to align ourselves with the physical world when the physical is simply a reflection of the Spiritual?

What is so important about that?

Well, I believe in the Spiritual all things are possible because Spirit is infinite. I also believe that all things are Spiritual. There is no delineation between the idea in consciousness and the experience in form, except the degree of expression. (That’s heady — I know, just ruminate on it for a bit)

Since ALL things are possible, there exists the possibility of discord and disharmony, pain and suffering, as well as blame and victimization. Wow! That’s not very inspiring, is it?

Actually, I think it is good to remember that if mind can create those experiences, then mind can create their experience in polarity. It is up to us personally to do the work to make that happen if we want ease and grace, wellness and comfort, harmony and peace. That work begins with entertaining ONLY those qualities in mind. The polarities don’t go away, but their grip on our lives dissipates.

The ideas that constitute the majority in our mind are the ideas that create our experience in life. Let the great thoughts be the Michael Phelps in your Olympic Pool mind. They should always win the race… but like Michael Phelps, we need to train! Training is the act of actively and consistently focusing your mind on magnificent thoughts irrespective of anything we experience that seems to oppose those thoughts! When we all do that we all triumph and take home the gold!
