There Is So Much More
“There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.”-William Shakespeare (Hamlet, Act 1 Scene 5)
Are you excited about life and learning? I am. I am a seeker and always looking to know more today than I did yesterday. There is power in being able to consider more than we think we know.
The whole concept of philosophy, as we know it now, is primarily defined as the study of reality and existence. I have found myself in adherence to the philosophy of Dr. Ernest Holmes called “The Science of Mind and Spirit.” It works for me because it feels practical, yet flexible and evolutionary.
The core idea of philosophy can actually be found in the root of the word itself — at its root the word means, “the love of wisdom.” I like that.
Let’s fall in love with wisdom. There is so much more to know about the nature of life and the Universe. It is a great joy, to me, to be able to explore it. I don’t want to take anything for granted. So how do we explore it?
Ask questions and do not take answers as gospel. In some ways it is like reverting to being two-years old again and incessantly asking the question, “Why?”
The more we explore the nature of all everything that exists, the more we can know about ourselves and our place within it. But, let’s not only look to the outside. Let’s explore and come to know more about what is within too. For the depths of wisdom are unlimited, they are beyond time and space. The more we look “out there,” the deeper we see. The more we look “in here,” the deeper we see. It works in both directions.
We are boundless and unlimited — so let’s go deeper.
Ask more questions. Get excited!
