Say Thank You For Just One Thing Today
I know you’ve heard it. You will be more successful if you live in gratitude. We are encouraged to keep gratitude journals and go to bed with gratitude on our minds (in fact… I just pitched that very practice on my podcast yesterday), but what if it feels overwhelming?
Do you ever find yourself feeling like you have nothing to be grateful for?
Have you struggled to get that gratitude list done?
Does it feel like you SHOULD be grateful for something because it is expected?
Don’t kid yourself. Allow yourself to really experience gratitude. It should a practice, not a chore. So how do we begin practice gratitude in a way that is experiential? Start with this, let yourself off the hook if you don’t feel it yet. You can’t force it. Start with one thing. Right now, in this moment, let go of any thought of what should be, allow yourself the luxury to relax and ask yourself the question, “What am I grateful for right now?” Then allow an answer to come to you.
The answer may not be what you would expect. Let yourself feel it no matter what it is!
That is how gratitude begins! Day one!
