Silence

I have made a career of breaking the silence. My life as a minister is to speak — and teach — and spread the message I have to spread through whatever means are made available to me. Basically, my job is to make noise.

Noise isn’t always necessary, however, and frequently noise is the last thing we need to find our way to a deeper sense of connection. I frequently engage in the practice of silence (and I am certain that might surprise the majority of people who experience me in an un-silent way). Silence allows me to deepen into my practice of understanding. Silence allows me to listen.

Listening is a great habit to embody. I have often found discord begins where listening ends.

So today the message is simple.

Allow silence…
