An Overflowing Vessel of Expression...That's YOU!

The journey of life is an unfolding of understanding. Expanding our vessel to receive more, and more, and more.

The experience I have been having on Kauaʻi is beginning to wind down. I see the end approaching and know that the end is the beginning of the next unfolding of understanding.

Why do we put ourselves in the position of these types of experiences? Have you ever put yourself in an experience like this (that is, a weeklong journey of heart and mind)?

I know that I put myself in this position each year because I walk away with a deeper understanding of some aspect of myself. This year is no different. I have had a major “a-ha!” moment in the last 24 hours that sets the course of my entire life on a new trajectory. While I am not willing to make the “a-ha” discovery public yet, I trust it will inform you as a reader and follower of my work. I am truly excited about it.

Could I have come to this deeper understanding and discovery without this journey? I believe so. The benefit of the journey is that in my willingness to commit to it 100% I allowed myself the room free of the distractions of the mundane.

This morning I underwent an exercise in forgiveness—always a great exercise because forgiveness is an ever unfolding process, not a one time experience. In this forgiveness exercise I was able to open up a kink in my hose of creative flow. What a tremendous feeling of joy and freedom! It was a kink I didn’t even know I had—because I could easily be distracted by the mundane and ignore it. That is why this work is so powerful (provided we take full advantage of it).

So what works? How might we expand our vessel? Only we can know the answer for ourselves.

I am grateful to have found one option for expansion to take advantage of each year.
