Change is the Constant

Last night, I was watching men’s figure skating events as part of this year’s Winter Olympics. I am not really one who seeks out or watches figure skating, but when it’s on as a part of the Winter Olympics I all of a sudden become quite the enthusiast (and an armchair critic). I watched as each man took to the ice and skated their free program—and I was moved. I had quite a reaction to the man who ultimately came in tenth place. Yes, the leaderboard was filled with magnificent skaters. Coming in tenth is no small feat. But there was a deeper connection for me in watching this man who placed tenth because of my experience of life.

Wide Eyed Evolution

Today’s reading struck me as relevant to what has occurred in a Florida high school just two days ago. Yet another school shooting. In reflecting what I’ve felt over these two days since I saw the news, I realize that I have been aligned with a race consciousness that feels a little defeated and desensitized… and helpless.

So I take myself more deeply into my spiritual practice to work through the issue.

Mental Images are More Than We Realize!

I don’t really know what to say about the part of today’s reading with the subtitle, “Immortality,” except this… there is a whole chapter in the book (Chapter 23) on the very topic that is much more thorough and concise. So. I am going to move past that section and talk a little about the final subtitled paragraph in this Chapter on “Body,” and most specifically the final sentence: “Intelligence is the ultimate creative agency of the Universe!”

Celebrate! You Are The ONE!

What does that mean? Unity and Multiplicity?

Well for me it is one of the most magnificent parts of this whole spiritual thing I’m so invested in. Briefly, unity is the understanding that there is only one thing (remember “The Thing Itself?”), one energy, one creative resource. Everything that exists is a part of the unified and infinite wholeness. Multiplicity means that the expression of this unified wholeness shows up in infinite ways! No two expressions of this wholeness are alike—and yet, all are part of the one.
